Decide on domain name.
Note: www.marlenas.com and www.marlenasoutlet.com are
registered.
- Choose 25 keywords, 25 key-phrases, and a 25 word description
of the site
- Decide on colors for the site.
- Supply graphic(s) for pre-launch.
Note: I have created a few custom graphics for the time
being.
- Week 2 (February 4 - February 10)
- Producer
- Assign domain name to server.
- Add metatags, keywords, etc. to the page.
- Register Site with at least 500 search engines.
Note: It is important to do this now before the site
is launched because some of the major search engines take as
long as 3 months to list new sites.
Finish design for Pre-Launch Page.
Note:You must approve Version 1 before it is actually
finished.
- Set up secure server.
- Finish interface and install Email Management Program.
- Register Email accounts.
- Staff
- Gather and organize content.
- Write an email letter to go to people who sign up for the
newsletter before the launch date.
- Decide on Email addresses for all depertments of Marlena.
Note: I suggest starting with one for everyone in the
company plus info, sales, customerservice, etc.
- Week 3 (February 11- February 17)
- Producer
- Launch Pre-Launch Splash Page.
- Design and complete programming for Press Section.
- Show you how to use the E-mail Management Program.
Note: This is so we can do the press releases next week.
- Write Print Button Script.
Note:This feature will only operate on level 4+ browsers.
Other users will see nothing and use the print command on their
respective browsers to print.

- Write email messages for auto-responders.
- Answer questions for Press Section.
- Supply final content to use on the site.
Note: Before the navigation structure is completed we
must have all content.
- Approve Pre-Launch Site.
- Week 4 (February 18- February 24)
- Producer
- Design and write programming for "Ask Marlena."
- Start to work on Database Program.
- Finish Press Program and Post it to the Pre-launch Site.
Note: You will need to finish Press Questionaire before
completion.
- Deliver Press Release to you.
- Install auto-responders
Note: You will need to get me the content first.
- Staff
- Organize and compile information for Database.
Note: This includes catigories, descriptions, product
names, prices, pictures, and product numbers.
- Start making a list of "Press People" you
want to mail or email press releases to.
- Start typing your list of "Press People" into
the Email Management Program.
- Week 5 (February 25- March 2)

- Finish Database.
- Write Cookie Program (remembers customer's name).
- Staff
- Mail and email Press Releases.
- Compile information for Frequently Asked Questions Section.
- Week 6 (March 3 - March 9)

- Install Cookie Program.
- Write Random Time Delivered Text Script.
- Write Random Text Script.
- Write last updated script.
- Work on design and navigation.
- Complete rough site (content and navigation.)

- Make a list of random text.
Note: This includes 5 or 6 sentences for every block
of text you want to change (initially 1 or 2 sections).

Note: This includes up to 24 time delivered messages
(1 for each of the 24 hours in a day).
- Week 7 (March 10 - March 16)

- Make all changes you require.
- Continue working on the site to get the navigation and design
perfect.

- Week 8 (March 17 - March 23)

- Make final revisions.
- Add DHTML features (Level 4+).
- Write and add routing scripts (browser, resolution, etc.).
- Staff
- Approve Final Site.
- Week 9 (March 24- March 30)

- Make last minute changes or revisions.
- Help you integrate the on-line ordering into your existing
system.
- Post final Phase I version on March 25th.
- Resubmit to the search engines again.
- Work out a plan for monitoring search engines.
- Deliver new 8 week plan for Phase II.
