Launch March 25

 

  • Week 1 (January 27 - February 3)
    • Producer
      1. Write Countdown Program.
      2. Write Email Management Program.
      3. Help you decide on colors for the site.
        Note: For the time being I chose black, red, and silver.
      4. Help you decide on keywords for the site.
        Note: Research and a suggested list has been started.
      5. Create Project Site
        Note: This is the site you are looking at.
    • Staff
      1. Decide on domain name.
        Note: www.marlenas.com and www.marlenasoutlet.com are registered.
      2. Choose 25 keywords, 25 key-phrases, and a 25 word description of the site
      3. Decide on colors for the site.
      4. Supply graphic(s) for pre-launch.
        Note: I have created a few custom graphics for the time being.

  • Week 2 (February 4 - February 10)
    • Producer
      1. Assign domain name to server.
      2. Add metatags, keywords, etc. to the page.
      3. Register Site with at least 500 search engines.
        Note: It is important to do this now before the site is launched because some of the major search engines take as long as 3 months to list new sites.
      4. Finish design for Pre-Launch Page.
        Note:You must approve Version 1 before it is actually finished.
      5. Set up secure server.
      6. Finish interface and install Email Management Program.
      7. Register Email accounts.
    • Staff
      1. Gather and organize content.
      2. Write an email letter to go to people who sign up for the newsletter before the launch date.
      3. Decide on Email addresses for all depertments of Marlena.
        Note: I suggest starting with one for everyone in the company plus info, sales, customerservice, etc.

  • Week 3 (February 11- February 17)
    • Producer
      1. Launch Pre-Launch Splash Page.
      2. Design and complete programming for Press Section.
      3. Show you how to use the E-mail Management Program.
        Note: This is so we can do the press releases next week.
      4. Write Print Button Script.
        Note:This feature will only operate on level 4+ browsers. Other users will see nothing and use the print command on their respective browsers to print.
    • Staff
      1. Write email messages for auto-responders.
      2. Answer questions for Press Section.
      3. Supply final content to use on the site.
        Note: Before the navigation structure is completed we must have all content.
      4. Approve Pre-Launch Site.

  • Week 4 (February 18- February 24)
    • Producer
      1. Design and write programming for "Ask Marlena."
      2. Start to work on Database Program.
      3. Finish Press Program and Post it to the Pre-launch Site.
        Note: You will need to finish Press Questionaire before completion.
      4. Deliver Press Release to you.
      5. Install auto-responders
        Note: You will need to get me the content first.
    • Staff
      1. Organize and compile information for Database.
        Note: This includes catigories, descriptions, product names, prices, pictures, and product numbers.
      2. Start making a list of  "Press People" you want to mail or email press releases to.
      3. Start typing your list of  "Press People" into the Email Management Program.

  • Week 5 (February 25- March 2)
    • Producer
      1. Finish Database.
      2. Write Cookie Program (remembers customer's name).
    • Staff
      1. Mail and email Press Releases.
      2. Compile information for Frequently Asked Questions Section.

  • Week 6 (March 3 - March 9)
    • Producer
      1. Install Cookie Program.
      2. Write Random Time Delivered Text Script.
      3. Write Random Text Script.
      4. Write last updated script.
      5. Work on design and navigation.
      6. Complete rough site (content and navigation.)
    • Staff
      1. Make a list of random text.
        Note: This includes 5 or 6 sentences for every block of text you want to change (initially 1 or 2 sections).
      2. Make a list of random time delivered messages.
        Note: This includes up to 24 time delivered messages (1 for each of the 24 hours in a day).

  • Week 7 (March 10 - March 16)
    • Producer
      1. Make all changes you require.
      2. Continue working on the site to get the navigation and design perfect.
      3. Test Database.
    • Staff
      1. Approve Navigation.

  • Week 8 (March 17 - March 23)
    • Producer
      1. Make final revisions.
      2. Add DHTML features (Level 4+).
      3. Write and add routing scripts (browser, resolution, etc.).
    • Staff
      1. Approve Final Site.
  •  

  • Week 9 (March 24- March 30)
    • Producer
      1. Make last minute changes or revisions.
      2. Help you integrate the on-line ordering into your existing system.
      3. Post final Phase I version on March 25th.
      4. Resubmit to the search engines again.
      5. Work out a plan for monitoring search engines.
      6. Deliver new 8 week plan for Phase II.
    • Staff
      1. Celebrate.
